Women @ OU Homecoming Parade 2007

Join us in celebrating Ohio University women!
This year’s Homecoming theme is “Bobcat Pride” and the parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2007.

The Herstory Committee wants university and community women and girls to come together, joining the parade to march and highlight Bobcat women’s successes.

We will especially honor women’s MAC championship sports teams because 2007 is the 35th anniversary year of Title IX, but we hope to also include classroom accomplishments, women’s community service, etc.

We invite you/your group to join us! It will be a fun opportunity to not only inform the large parade audience of your activities, but to meet other interested and interesting women of all ages.

Last year, the Herstory Committee got about 50 women “Back on the Bricks” to honor past and present women’s marches for equal rights, safe streets, etc. We had fun!

See some photos of us in last year’s parade and read The Post coverage “Women unite for women: Herstory group honors ‘foremothers’ who hit the bricks.”

The Herstory Committee is working to ensure that this year’s parade will again generate publicity about women’s important accomplishments and activities. Make a sign. Make a banner. Wear matching t-shirts.

And if you might be interested in joining us in the parade, please email me at daso -at- ohio.edu so we can keep you up to date on specific plans. AND PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO INVITE YOUR WOMEN FRIENDS!

Thank you. Judy Daso daso -at- ohio.edu
