On the final Friday of every month, galleries and retail shops on Nelsonville’s Historic Square stay open late to feature special art events. Enjoy artists’ demonstrations, art chats, artists at work in their studios, and openings of new art exhibits, plays, and musical shows. For more see schedule.

Nelsonville Pottery & Art Supply
Bluebird Pottery artist Susan Sherman sharing with visitors her tasty treats and many recipes for cooking in her locally made pottery.

Nelsonville Quilt Company
Chenille demo: use the pumpkins to make a great fall wall hanging or sweatshirt. Get ready for winter with a new chenille scarf. Long arm quilting demos all night.

Only from Ohio
Fall wreaths & floral arrangements by Kim Sands, sampling of fall foods, fresh Great Harvest breads, antiques & high end furniture, new glass by Carolyn Fisk, and storewide specials.

Paper Circle
Opening: New Propositions on Handmade Paper by Mary Manusos. Ohio University Art professor will exhibit her gorgeous images made in and of paper.

Spinning Turtle Yarn and Gifts
Hosting a presentation about the Comfort or Prayer Shawls Ministry. Anyone belonging to a shawl group is welcome to come and participate, or send Spinning Turtle their information to share.

Starbrick Clay
Opening: Masks and Totems presenting a contemporary perspective of the Mask and Totem in Clay, celebrating the season of disguises and alter egos! In the Window: Cindy Yeager

Stuart’s Gallery 1879
Opening: The Bra Project – No 2 Are Alike features the work of 30 area artists consisting of 50 some pieces. A spunky, provocative & outspoken art exhibit. Entertainment provided by Milena Miller and Friends & Charlie and Celia Lewis. A year’s membership to WellWorks to be raffled off. Proceeds from this event to benefit Breast Cancer Research.
