Free and open to the public

New Straitsville shares its Welsh, Irish, and Scottish heritage in an outdoor festival. Dancers, storytellers, and Celtic musicians enliven the grounds of the New Straitsville History Group’s Robinson’s Cave and Dunkle Building grounds. The small town atmosphere, historic location, and good food make the second Saturday of September a relaxing and enjoyable time for the family.

New Straitsville is located in the heart of the Wayne National Forest on State Routes 93, 216, and 595 in southern Perry County (25 miles north of Athens and 60 miles southeast of Columbus). Sponsored by the New Straitsville History Group and the Ohio Arts Council.

*Melanie Pratt – Melanie the Seanachie
Melanie has been telling tales for more than 20 years. For the past 16 years she has focused much of her storytelling energy on tales from the Celtic lands and tells tales from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Isle of Man, Cornwall, and Brittany as part of her repertoire. Much of this has come from her genealogical discovery that part of her ancestry is Irish, Welsh, and Scottish.
