In this Contemporary History Institute (http://www.ohiou.edu/conhist/) lecture Benita Blessing will be speaking on her new book, The Anti-Fascist Classroom: Education and De-Nazification in Soviet Occupied Germany, 1945-1949 (http://www.palgrave-usa.com/catalog/product.aspx?isbn=1403976120).

Dr. Blessing (http://www.ohio.edu/history/facultystaff/Blessing.cfm) is assistant professor of European women’s and gender history in the department of history. She teaches courses on European gender and cultural history, including modern Germany, modern France, Women Warriors, and Students and Revolution. She earned her dual PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the departments of history and education. Blessing was the recipient of the University Professor award this past year for outstanding undergraduate teaching. Most recently ONCA has honored her with the Distinguished Service Award for her work with young scholars applying for fellowships and graduate school.
