Templeton-Blackburn Memorial Auditorium (
Ohio University, Athens, Ohio
$8 student; $12 senior; $15 general

An explosion of scientific knowledge has spurred widespread curiosity about humankind’s position in this vastly complex and constantly changing world. Narrated by Neil Conan, host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation, A Universe of Dreams explores the galaxy through images from the Hubble Space Telescope and the Celtic melodies of the all-female Ensemble Galilei ( This multi-faceted performance is inspired by the immensity and intensity of the cosmos, recognizing that the motion of our lives corresponds with the forces of the heavens. Expertly blending poetry and music, it exposes an abundance of knowledge, a flood of hope and a universe of dreams.

About Ensemble Galilei:

Virtuoso technique, an instinctive feeling for the idiom, and the courage to improvise… they play with energy, splendid ensemble, good humor and imagination. –The Washington Post
