Diversity 101: Diversity, Pluralism, and Inclusion…

Diversity 101: Diversity, Pluralism, and Inclusion: What’s This Have to Do With Me?
Thursday, March 1, 7:30-9:30 p.m

Margaret Walter Hall 135 (http://www.ohiou.edu/athens/bldgs/walter.html)
Ohio University, Athens, Ohio

This seminar is open to the entire university community, but the College of Education (http://www.coe.ohiou.edu/), as the event sponsor, extends a special invitation to the LGBT community.

Visiting scholars Jean Ann Hunt and David Stone from SUNY Plattsburgh introduce diversity as an idea that is broader than most people think. The presenters will use interaction between participants as an effective learning tool in an environment of respect, safety and civility. Attendees are encouraged to develop insights into where they stand on multicultural issues through examination of the concepts of diversity, pluralism, inclusion, dominance, and privilege in their own lives.

Drs. Hunt and Stone are the co-founders of Transitions, an organization that provides diversity education and multicultural training to help institutions move from where they are to where they want to be.
