63 N. Court St., Athens, Ohio

Our gigantic, 32-page February edition is due back from the printers any day now! What’s in it, you ask? Coverage of SDS (new and old), OU’s “free speech zones,” the ACLU’s case against government wiretapping, Mehri Davi’s Agape Project, the national conference for media reform/ problems of corporate media, controversies within the contemporary human rights and feminist movements, poetry from Jon Sands, and more… like profiles of 13 local organizations and listings for 23 upcoming events!

The InterActivist provides reporting and politically progressive commentary on stories the corporate media either ignores or misreports, along with featured interviews with local activists and organizations, a directory of social justice and social service organizations in Athens, and a calendar of upcoming events.

Founded in 2003 by the campus and community activist group InterAct (voted “Best Student Organization,” 2006 Athens News Readers’ Choice Awards), The InterActivist is now published by the local activist development center People Might in collaboration with InterAct, Amnesty International at OU, the Sustainable Living Organization, and Up In Arms, with additional support from the Campus Progress division of the DC-based Center for American Progress.
