Karen Greiner (http://www.coms.ohiou.edu/grstu_greiner.php), a doctoral student in the School of Communication Studies, will discuss her research on participatory health communication interventions and using entertainment education in the Sudan. She worked with Dr. Arvind Singhal of Ohio University and Sarah Hurlburt of the Population Media Center and their co-authored paper “With a Radio Antenna We Can Stop the Practice of Female Genital Cutting: A Participatory Assessment of Ashreat Al Amal, an Entertainment-Education Radio Soap Opera, in the Sudan” which will be presented at 2007 International Communication Association Conference.
