This blog began as an attempt to capture a useable archive of the event postings to AWE: Athens-area Women E-mail List. However there are now 3 fun ways to get info on events of interest in the greater Athens Ohio area:
- This Blog — substantive info on events with images and links. Get yer RSS feed for the blog here:http://athenswomen.wordpress.com/feed/
- the Listserv — basic info on events
- Google Calendar http://www.herstorycelebration.org/calendar.html — contains all of the above and more, most up-to-date, and can be easily added to your own Google calendar.
The AWE Listserv is a community of about 125 subscribers–a cross section of university (Ohio University /Hocking College) and Athens-area community. This List is intended for folks interested in keeping up-to-date on events and items of interest in women’s, LGBT, gender-related issues and events, feminism, and women’s networking, in the “greater” Athens, Ohio area.
We’re working toward being a sort of local clearinghouse for women’s events. (Since most of us don’t have the time every day to look in the Post, the Athens News, the Athens Messenger, ATHENSi, Speakeasy, OU LGBT’s site, Facebook, OU’s event listings, OU’s Women’s Studies‘ site, UCM’s site, WOUB’s community bulletin board, Final Friday’s site, Athens County Visitor’s Bureau calendar, etc.)
Please help by sharing with the List all events and info that you think our community would like to know about by e-mailing them directly to the List @ awe -at- herstorycelebration.org or to me @ jcarleton -at- herstorycelebration.org
